Farm Wife Devotions: Ready To Race?
“Brethren, I count not myself yet to have laid hold: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14
You are in a race! A race to fulfill your calling!
It doesn't have to be a “fancy” calling. Each calling is just as equally important as the other! Motherhood is a calling. Help-meet is a calling. Women's ministry is a calling. Nursery worker is a calling. Farm Wife is a calling.
You get the picture.
You might be saying, “But, you should see me right now covered in spit-up from my 3 month old. I'm barely hanging on. In fact, I feel like I'm just surviving.”
“Yeah I'm in a race! Trying to keep up with my hubby's errands, moving trucks around in the field, and making meals! You should see the mess I'm in! I look like I haven't showered for days!”
Well guess what? You are doing great!
Leave it all behind you on your journey.
Think about a runner in a marathon. Do they aim to look like a million bucks as they cross the finish line? No! They leave it all behind them in the race!
Don't get caught up in the details.
Just stay focused, press forward, leave it all on your race course, and finish your race!
You've got the best cheering squad around!
Your Heavenly Father...and Me!
